Your therapist will take a detailed medical history and then perform an objective assessment of your muscles, joints and neurological function. They will explain their diagnosis, discuss with you what your goals are, initiate a treatment plan and guide you towards a successful recovery. Exercises given as part of treatment will be demonstrated to you individually, so you clearly understand what you are doing.
No, you do not require a referral to be assessed and treated by a physiotherapist. However, some insurance companies may require a physician's referral to cover the cost of your treatment.
Something loose and comfortable, which allows us access to the injured body part. For example, if you have a shoulder injury, perhaps bring a tank top and for knee/hip issues, some shorts would be appropriate. Please also bring indoor shoes or slippers as you will be asked to remove outdoor footwear at the door.
This will be determined in discussion with your therapist, but varies from patient to patient and depends upon the type of injury and its severity.
At Strathmore Physical Therapy we do not impose a time limit on your visit. We feel that it is important for you to be here as long as is required.
We take Debit, Visa, MasterCard or cash.
Following the recent announcement of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, Strathmore Physical Therapy will not be passing on credit card fees to clients at this time.
We are an Alberta Health Service approved, contracted clinic so if you have recently had a surgery, fracture, procedure performed in hospital or meet specific low income criteria we can obtain funding for your treatment. Please phone for further information.
We are able to direct bill the majority of insurance companies. Please call to find out which ones are on our list. In addition, we are set up to direct bill RCMP, Canadian Forces and Veterans Affairs.
Yes we do. Our physiotherapists are happy to provide a consultation virtually over the Zoom platform, but feel strongly that an in-clinic visit is by far the most beneficial choice. Please call the clinic for further information.
There will be a full fee charged for appointments that are missed or cancelled without 24 hours notice. Please note that we have a 24 hour answering machine.
We clean our beds and equipment after EVERY use, with a hydrogen peroxide solution, which breaks down and does not leave a residue. We do ask that if you are not feeling well, that you do not enter our clinic. Please call and rebook your appointment.
Alberta Health Services no longer require masks in our facility, but it is recommended. You are welcome to wear one should you choose and our staff our happy to accommodate any requests to make you feel comfortable.
